Stories by Roisin was only the first chapter - welcome to the next one!

“We are, as a species, addicted to story.” - Jonathan Gottschall

What is human nature? A ton of things - but one of the most characteristic traits of humans is our need to tell stories. These stories shape us, just as we shape them. As our cultural needs and values shift, so should our stories. Fabled Nature is an endeavor that works to tell stories, to adapt them, and share them again in a way that preserves & propels the values of society.

Meet the Storytellers

Hi! I am Megan Noel Johnson - storyteller, educator, and creator of Fabled Nature. I have been telling stories both true & concocted since I could string words together (just ask my parents). Stories of silly creatures in made up places, stories of heartbreak, revelation, time travel, tradition, stories about that time I busted my pants open - they are all stories that I love. I have accumulated plenty of stories in my time as an actor and a caregiver. In 2014, I accidentally became a professional storyteller at a renaissance festival and I have never looked back.

Yes, it is "storytellerssss" plural because our team includes - YOU! You may not have realized it but you have been telling stories your whole life. That makes you a darned experienced storyteller. So whether you are here to hear or here to tell, I can't wait to see what you bring to the storytelling table.

Hi! My name is Annelise Hodge. I am a producer and taskmaster for Fabled Nature, one of several clients that I work with. When I am not telling stories or driving business for brands/artists I love and admire, I work as an Administrative Assistant – which for me means the corporate world’s version of a Stage Manager. My career has always been driven towards producing, supporting and creating new work. In particular, I am passionate about supporting original, female-driven works of art. I have been producing actively since 2017 on over 25 productions, and am the Production Stage Manager for Smartmouth Comedy Company.

So storytelling means...?

Stories are one of the most fluid, adaptable things humans have ever created. Stories can be visual art, social media content, dance, jokes - you name it. But when I refer to storytelling, I am referring largely to the practice of sharing stories, transforming, and performing. These traditions have changed over time and different people communicate different ways. Whether you tell stories with your words, your writing, your creations, or your movement, storytelling consists of transferring a message from one person to another.
